This week has been marred by a number of ill fated events.
Reports out of Europe state the Saga Cruises New Saga Sapphire has encounter major engine issues during her maiden voyage on April 16th. The ship is reported to be tied up in Valencia, Spain. Her 444 passengers have been treated royally though the whole ordeal with report free flowing champagne and more. The decision has been made to abort the cruise and it reported that passengers have been flown home.
I hope this is a temporary situation, Saga has an excellent reputation. The Saga Sapphire also has a honorable career. Previously she has sailed as the exclusive Europa of 1981 for Hapag-lloyd, SuperStar Aries for Star Cruises, Holiday Dream for Pullmantur and the Bleu de France for CDF Croisieres.
I was looking forward to this great combination of Saga Cruises and the Saga Sapphire. I hope the Saga Sapphire is back in service quickly. The Saga Sapphire left Southampton on her maiden voyage April 2nd.
