|Fathom Cruises Adonia Sails Humanitarian Cruises to Cuba or the Dominican Republic|
Although many US cruise lines have said they will start cruises to Cuba, so far Carnival Cruise Line's Fathom Cruise Line has been the only successful company to launch cruises.
Sailing to Cuba, from Miami, as part of a humanitarian mission, passengers are allowed to part-take in activities to help improve the life of Cuban citizens. The ship also alternately sails to the Dominican Republic performing humanitarian work as well.
Here is a photo of the deluxe cruise ship Adonia which is sailing for Fathom. The Adonia, previously sailed for P&O Cruises (originally constructed as part of the Renaissance fleet in 2001). She is ideal in size at 30,277 tons and measures 594 feet long and 84 feet wide. She carries 702 passengers and 373 crew. Her cruising speed is 18 knots.
