The Holland America Ships That Were Not To Be.

In 1988 / 1989 - Holland America Line announced that they were in negotiations with Germany's Bremer Vulkan Shipyard for the construction of 2 modest size cruise ships. While in negotiations with the shipyard, Carnival Cruises acquired Holland America and the deal fell through when Bremen Vulcan could not secure the funding/loan for the new ships.

Here is an artists rendering of the proposed cruise ships that were never built.
