Artists Rendering of the Genting Dream - Minus the Hull Art - Meyer Werft & Dream Cruises
On January 10, 2017, in the presence of Genting Group and Meyer Werft dignitaries, the keel laying of new World Dream occurred in Papenburg, Germany.

To officially start the ship's construction,  block number 3 was officially lowered into the building dock. This the 3rd block of 92 blocks needed to complete the 151,000 ton ship. .

In keeping with tradition, "lucky coins" were placed under the keel block of the ship as a symbol of good fortune and to bless the ship and those that sail on her.

Total construction of the ship is expected to take only 11 months which is impressive for a ship of this size. The World Dream is expected to sail on her maiden voyage in Southeast Asia in November of 2017.

She will join her sister ship, the Genting Dream, which entered service this past November (2016).
