|Quark Cruises' Sea Adventurer to Undergo Significant Refit in Spring 2017|
Originally built as a Russian research vessel, the exploration ship, Sea Adventurer will undergo an extensive refit at Ulstein Verft. The rejuvenation of the ship is expected to totally transform the vessel, touching almost every aspect of the ship including cabins, public rooms and public spaces. The renovation will also include the additional of cabins and the total replacement and modernization of the bathrooms throughout the ship. On the technical side, 2 new engines will be installed, generators replaced, propellers overhauled as well as fuel consumption reduced and emissions systems improved/added to reduce the carbon footprint of the vessel.
The expedition cruise vessel, Sea Adventurer, has spent most of her career in polar regions and you may remember this vessel as the Clipper Adventurer which sailed exploration cruises for many years for Clipper Cruise Line.
Currently the Sea Adventurer is owned by Adventurers Partner Ltd and currently operated by Quark Expeditions.
The Sea Adventurer is expected to arrive in Norway early April 2017 with the work expected to complete by mid-June 2017.
The 328 foot long ship was originally built in Croatia in 1977
