Hurtigruten has announced the delivery of its second expedition ship - Fridtjof Nansen has been delayed. Construction of the advanced hybrid, battery powered expedition ship is said to be behind schedule due to the delays experienced during the construction of the first ship of the series  - the Roald Amundsen. The Roald Amundsen's delivery has been delayed 8 months to May, 2019.

The ships are under construction at  Kleven shipyard in Norway. Kleven shipyard faced financial issues in 2017. The shipyard was subsequently bailed out by a consortium of investors, led by Hurtigruten, which owns a 40 percent interest.

No new delivery date has been announced for the Fridtjof Nansen yet.
