|Cruise and Maritime Voyages New Flagship the Amy Johnson to Debut in April 2021|
At 70,285grt, this impressive mid-sized cruise ship carries about 1400 passengers. Fully stabilized and air-conditioned, she has 11 passenger decks serviced by 9 elevators.
Originally constructed as Princess Cruises' Regal Princess (1991–2007) and then transferred to P&O Australia and renamed the Pacific Dawn (2007–2021) Amy Johnson (2021-onwards), the Amy Johnson is a beautifully stylish, comfortable and expansive cruise ship. She offers a real feeling of spaciousness and yet still retains that sense of intimacy and camaraderie so loved by CMV guests. She underwent refits in 2010, 2014 and 2017, and will be upgraded further in March 2021 before the start of her maiden CMV season.
As a tribute and celebration to the courageous endeavors of past female explorers and pioneers, we have named our new flagship Amy Johnson. Named after Amy Johnson (1903-1941) who was a pioneering English pilot and the first woman to fly solo from London to Australia. In 1931, at the age of 27, Johnson set off from Croydon, Surrey to Darwin, Northern Territory.
The Amy Johnson will sail to Northern Europe, The Arctic and as far as Iceland, Greenland and Canada.
